Alor Setar?

If I didn't saw Jasmine's facebook, I would never discover that my hometown, "Alor Star" (as I reckon), had changed back it's name to the old version as "Alor Setar" as it used to be many years ago before it changes to "Alor Star" (mordern version 4 years ago).

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak said the decision was made during the state exco meeting here yesterday, adding that the state government would change its letterhead and road signage in line with the move. “The name Alor Setar was given when the area was opened as the state administrative centre more that 300 years ago,” he said after chairing the state exco meeting.The name was changed to Alor Star four years ago to give it a modern sound. But now they felt that the original name of Alor Setar is much suited than the current name.

It has been changed for almost 8-9 months but I know nothing bout it till TODAY! Gosh~

If you guys are still as outdated as me :/ espeacially Kedahans, please read more about our Alor Setar.

But I still don't understand why must they change it?
Aren't "Alor Star" sounds better than the lame old name "Alor Setar" ?
